Craftsmanship Builds Dreams and Embarks On A New Journey - Tong Hailong from Fangda Group Northern Heavy Industry Participates in the "Industrial Workers Tell Stories of Industrial
On the afternoon of May 16th, the atmosphere in the Workers' Cultural Palace of Shenyang Economic and Technological Development Zone was lively with continuous applause. The "Craftsmanship Building Dreams, Industrial Reform Walking Hand in Hand" special event for industrial workers to tell Stories of industrial reform in Tiexi disctrict was grandly held here. More than 300 people, including grassroots trade union cadres, enterprise employee representatives and management representatives from Tiexi District, gathered together to listen to the arduous journey of industrial workers in the process of industrial reform. Among them, the sharing brought by Tong Hailong from Northern Heavy Industries was particularly eye-catching.
Tong Hailong, the chief engineer of the seven-axis five-linkage CNC turning and milling machine in the Machining Workshop of the Major Components Branch of Northern Heavy Industries, a mechanical engineer, and a "Master Craftsman" of the company, as well as a recipient of the Liaoning May Day Labor Medal, delivered a wonderful speech titled "Craftsmanship Refines the Path of Growth, Industrial Reform Empowers the New Journey" at the event. Taking his own personal experiences as the main, he recounted the glorious journey of gradually growing from an ordinary worker to a master operator proficient in advanced CNC equipment.
When recalling when he first came into contact with high-end equipment, Tong Hailong still couldn't hide the shock in his heart. Those precise and complex devices kindled his strong thirst for knowledge and desire to take on challenges. In order to master the operation techniques of imported equipment, he embarked on an unforgettable journey of hard study of a foreign language. Over countless days and nights, he referred to the foreign language manuals of the machine while consulting a dictionary, solving technical problems one by one. With his indomitable perseverance, he successfully overcame the language barrier and mastered the operation skills of the machine proficiently.
Since 2023, Northern Heavy Industries has explored an independent evaluation mechanism for skilled talents. Tong Hailong, with his exquisite skills and outstanding performance, has stood out among nearly 2,000 front-line production workers and has been awarded the title of "Great Craftsman" by Northern Heavy Industries twice. This honor is not only an acknowledgement to him, but also a heavy responsibility. Since then, he has been actively asking for work from planners and taking on more tasks on his own initiative. While enhancing his own skills, he has also imparted his experience to his colleagues without reservation, inspiring everyone to make progress together.
This event is jointly organized by the Municipal Machinery, Light Industry and Chemical Industry Association and the Trade Union of Tiexi District. It is not only a deep study and implementation of the important speech made by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and the National Commendation Conference for Model Workers and Advanced Workers, but also a vivid practice of the trade union system to promote revitalization and development around industrial reform.
