"Time-honored" enterprises lead mining mill technology with innovation

June 10 (Ma Shihui) Recently, by NHI independently designed, with complete independent intellectual property rights of Φ7.9×4.8m SAG mill and Φ6.4×9.7m overflow ball mill has been determined to export to a country in Africa. This is the company's first export of large mining mills since 2019.

In 1953, the first ball mill in New China was born in Shenyang Heavy Machinery Group Co.,Ltd., the predecessor of NHI, marking the beginning of China's independent research and development, design, and manufacturing of large-scale mining mills.

As one of the standard setting units of heavy machinery and mill industry, in the 1980s, NHI adopted cooperative production and technology introduction with enterprises in developed countries in the world, digested and absorbed advanced technology and innovated, and gradually produced advanced mill equipment with independent intellectual property rights.

At present, NHI has accumulated more than 9,000 sets of mining mills, tens of thousands of mining equipment all over the world. Among them, two Φ9.15×5m SAG mill and two Φ6.4×10m ball mill provided for Laos, with installed power of 8000kW, is the first time in China to use "one drag two" frequency conversion drive scheme mill, filling the domestic technology gap.

After years of exploration, NHI has completed the designing of Φ 12.2 × 6.4m SAG mill and Φ 8.0 ×14.0m ball mill , can provide domestic and foreign users with oversized mining mill equipment.

The spiral vertical mill is a two-stage grinding alternative product independently designed and developed by NHI. Mainly used in the crushing and grinding of metal ores, crushing and deep processing of non-metallic ores, comprehensive utilization of low-grade minerals, extraction of useful elements in tailings and other mining industries, as well as ultra-fine grinding equipment in powder metallurgy, mechanical alloying, metallurgical raw material treatment, metallurgical waste residue utilization, hard alloy production and other industrial industries.

In 2021, the world's largest installed power of 3357kW (4500HP) spiral vertical mill produced by NHI was exported overseas, and it also became the enterprise with the best design, manufacturing, and sales performance of 1120kW (1500HP) in China.

“The new spiral vertical mills adopts the principle of high energy density grinding, with high grinding efficiency and low ball out of round rate, saving 15% of steel ball loss annually. At the same time, it adopts a multi-stage lining plate optimization design, which is convenient for replacement, high material utilization rate, long lining plate life, and can save up to 20% of lining plate cost annually. We have also developed magnetic lining plates for spiral vertical mills, making the product more widely applicable ”.Said Mr.Liu Gang, the professional chief engineer of the mining complete set division at the NHI Design and Research Institute.
