Testing Center
The Testing Center of Northern Heavy Industries Group Co., Ltd.(NHI) (hereinafter referred to as the Laboratory) was accredited and evaluated by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) in January 2023, with 15 testing capabilities in 3 categories and 6 calibration and measurement capabilities. It is a metal material testing and calibration laboratory that integrates physical and chemical inspection, non-destructive testing, metrological calibration, and measurement. There are currently 19 measurement standards authorized by the Market Supervision Administration of Tiexi District, Shenyang City, covering measurement majors such as length, thermodynamics, mechanics, and electricity.
The Laboratory has three departments: Physical and Chemical Department, Ultrasonic Testing Department, and Metrology Department. The Physical and Chemical Department is mainly engaged in mechanical property testing of various ferrous metal and non-ferrous metals, metallographic structure inspection, chemical composition analysis, and oil and grease analysis; The Ultrasonic Testing Department is mainly engaged in ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and penetrant non-destructive testing of castings, forgings, welded parts, and plates; The Metrology Department is mainly engaged in geometric measurement, calibration and verification of measuring instruments, pressure gauges, thermal and electrical instruments.
The Laboratory has strong technical strength. 21% of the personnel hold senior technical titles and possess qualifications as Level 3 non-destructive testing personnel for ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and penetrant testing, as well as qualification of Level 1 and Level 2 registered metrologists. All technical personnel are authorized as testing personnel by institutions such as the State Administration for Market Regulation, Liaoning Provincial Administration for Market Regulation, and Shenyang Machinery Industry Physical and Chemical Management Association.
The Laboratory equipment is advanced. We have advanced instruments and equipment at home and abroad, including Carl Zeiss 6-meter length measuring machine, API laser tracker, Optiv performance662 composite image measuring instrument, microcomputer controlled electronic universal testing machine, microcomputer controlled electro-hydraulic servo universal testing machine, microcomputer controlled pendulum impact testing machine, Olympus metallographic microscope, PDA-7000 photoelectric spark spectrometer from Shimadzu Corporation in Japan, iCAP6300 inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometer from Thermo Electron Corporation in the United States, AA700 atomic absorption spectrometer from PerkinElmer Corporation in the United States, and USN60 ultrasonic flaw detector from GE.
The Laboratory will adhere to the principles of "scientific rigor, standardized accuracy, professional efficiency, integrity innovation ", adhere to modern scientific management concepts, continuously improve technical level, enhance service quality, and strive to build the Testing Center of NHI into a metal material testing and calibration laboratory with industry influence and credibility.
